Ed Sheeran

To me, Ed Sheeran’s concert can really only be described with one word: surreal. This is an artist I had closely followed for years, as I’m sure many of us have. Having the opportunity to see one of the biggest names in music live was such an incredibly cathartic experience to me, and I didn’t even realize how much of one it would've been. From harmonizing one of my personal favorite songs, Give Me Love, with Ed splitting the audience down the middle and assigning us high and low melody, to making the audience jumpand sing to Shape of You, his on-stage presence and charisma was pretty darn impressive, not to mention that the stadium was huge to the point he was effectively the size of a pin. Of course, nothing could possibly compare to seeing him perform a song that I have genuinely loved and called my favourite song since secondary 4, Perfect. For reference, I have 19 Ed Sheeran songs on my phone. 5 of them are various versions of Perfect. I have a WHOLE PLAYLIST filled with every version of Perfect I could find. From the Italian version to the Beyoncé version, I have it ALL. (I’m listening to it right now no joke.) Debatably one of the sweetest and most wholesome songs I know, it has always embodied the Perfect (ha!) love to me and when he hit the chorus I am not even a little ashamed to admit that I teared up. From sitting in class listening in my school uniform and being emo to watching him singing live right in front of me and still being emo was such a full-circle moment for me. That was the real highlight of the concert for me personally. Not the jumping, or cheering, or when he came out for the encore in a Singapore t-shirt.Just me, in my own world, singing a love song with Ed Sheeran.
