Scarlet Avenue Unplugged

Scarlet Avenue. What can I say. They melt my heart just like how the Jonas Brothers did. But there’s only two of them. That’s how good they are.

And I’m not the only one who agrees. Their fans, also known as Scarlets, ARE INSANE. Once the doors opened, they rushed in to get the best seats they could to see the boys once the concert started.

The moment it hit 8pm, the brotherly duo appeared as the smoke machine went off. Very, very dreamy. The fans showed me how hardcore they really are about the boys, reminding me of how I was when One Direction appeared on stage during their concert. Yes. That crazy.

Starting off the concert with everyone’s favourite, “Paper Plane”, you could see everyone in the theatre singing along (trust me, I turned around to make sure).Hosting the event by themselves, the boys constantly reminded their fans how grateful they are for them, thanking them sincerely for their support after every song. They also told us how their musical journey started in France, and how supportive their family was of their passion.

They also told us about how Adam stole Amos’ 21-year-old girlfriend when they were 11 and 15 respectively, which inspired the song, “The Girl Next Door”.

What blew me away was how they were ten times amazing-er (I know this isn’t a word) live than in their tracks. Adam’s raspy voice gave me goosebumps while Amos’ strong vocals brought me to another place altogether. I also want to add that their harmonies WERE ON POINT.

Not only are they talented vocally, but musically as well. Adam’s guitar skills (on both the acoustic and electric guitar) made my hands sweat because they were crying from the lack of skill that they have when I play the guitar.

Before the concert started, staff were walking around, getting the fans to write random words on pieces of paper. I didn’t know what that was for, until the brothers told us that they were going to write impromptu songs for the audience based on the words they would randomly take out from the collection.

Summarising this whole section up, they wrote a love song about being a slave to a sexy girl’s love, a song about words, blood and sheep (they sang it in a blues kinda way and Amos’ vocals here were AMAZING), and a song about being fabulous, pineapples, and a girl named Aisyah.

What caught my eye about the duo was how they could communicate just with their eyes. I can safely say that they’ve got that bro telepathy going on. They even showed us their brotherly love by saying “I love you” to each other onstage.

Closing their first ever concert, the boys sang “I’ll Be There For You” and dedicated it to their fans. Singing back to the boys, you could see the shimmer in the audience’s eyes as they sang the lyrics “I’ll be there for you”, because I know that they meant it with all their hearts.
