Singapore Rugby 7s

Hands down one of my favourite weekends from 13th to 14th of April! Spectating the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2019 at the National Stadium was a breathtaking experience. I can’t express my exhilaration and feelings in words when Ruth and I were presented with Media Accredited Passes! So what did the passes entail us? It gave us complete access to media areas throughout the two-day event. From the Media Centre to media reserved seats spectating the field of play and also opportunities to be alongside official photographers on the field! At the Media Centre, we were seated across the official media team and watching them tirelessly work behind the scenes was an eye opener for both of us.Ruth went wild and cheered on every time her favourite countries came sprinting into the field, and I was busy being an Insta nerd! Witnessing the players head to head, fighting for every point got us at the edge of our seats and jumping at times! The matches were short stints of 7 minutes each. It was generally intense, and players were sprinting from one end to the other, shoving each other to retrieve the rugby ball. Certain games had the extra duration, and key players took the advantage to score a couple of points! The best moments were when they hurled themselves on top of each other just to regain possession of the rugby ball.Ruth and I had such an unprecedented time here, and the hospitality was simply amazing, truly blessed to be given such an opportunity! The entire experience throughout the two days was really insightful and cheers to more opportunities as such!
