The Truth Play

I wanna start this off by saying I’m not being paid to say this but I really did have fun and it’s something you should definitely watch if you’re into being happy but if you’re not like that I hope you’re okay. I’m gonna admit I was a bit hesitant to watch The Truth. It was a long week (it was Tuesday) and I was just really tired and I needed SLEEP whether it was in or out of the theatre. I will also admit that I was completely wrong about the play and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed more watching The Truth. Me being me, I usually get bored in non-musical stage productions just because the dialogue is so…slow…like…they’ll say something and wait 5 seconds for the audience to contemplate.

Let me give you an example.

A: Hey, who won rock paper scissors yesterday?

B: No one really wins rock paper scissors.

*PAUSE**SILENCE**CONTEMPLATION*

A: I guess so.

BUT The Truth has none of that stop and think-ness instead its witty remarks one after another like me and a tube of Menthol Mint Mentos and the only real time you have to pause is to figure out a joke and even then they don’t wait for you they have other things to do and more important jokes to make. All in all I’m not a professional play reviewer or anything but I can safely say that The Truth is such fun to watch and experience and just think about how they managed to make a toxic relationship hilarious. I really can’t promise you anything except a nice entertaining night but you’re gonna have to take my word for that. And that’s The Truth.
